Reunion: Father and Daughter
Abram Gutkin, a retired Soviet physics professor, reunited with his daughter, Vera Gutkina, in Jerusalem after five years as a refusenik. Initially denied emigration due to alleged “secret” work, he was unexpectedly granted an exit visa. Vera, an artist, had long painted in hope of his arrival. Despite health issues, Gutkin arrived in Israel, and settled with his family, meeting his granddaughters for the first time.
